Heather Nagengast is known throughout the financial services profession as a dynamic leader driving financial professional satisfaction, retention and recruiting by putting culture and people at the forefront of her organizations. 

For over 20 years, Heather honed her strategic focus through roles focusing on business strategy and planning, financial planning and accounting, and recruiting and business development. 

With her deep understanding of being an entrepreneur in our profession, she led financial professional recruiting firms like Premier Recruiters, QA3 Financial Corp and FinaCom Solutions.  In these roles, she was able to develop a keen sense of the key needs to support financial professionals, and was asked to take on institutional sales, agency and advisor distribution, and broker-dealer / RIA operations at other firms.

Prior to joining Penn Mutual, Heather held the role as President of the Ameritas Investment Company, Ameritas Advisory Services as well as led Ameritas Agency & Advisor Distribution, where her leadership helped Ameritas achieve a top 25 status as a broker-dealer, according to Investment News. 

In her role as President of 1847Financial, she’ll continue to focus on growth and retention of wealth management focused financial professionals that seek to leverage protection-first financial planning with life insurance products through Penn Mutual and investment solutions through HTK.   

In her spare time, Heather enjoys quality time with her husband Jim and the rest of her family, and has a passion for archery, travel, gardening, health and fitness.
