At 1847Financial-Utah/Arizona, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Our team is committed to making a positive impact, and one of the ways we do this is through our annual service activities. Each year, we organize between four to six initiatives aimed at supporting those in need within our community. This summer, our efforts were focused on a donation drive to support a critical need at a refugee shelter in Salt Lake City.

Supporting Families in Need

We partnered with The Ward Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing essential resources and support to refugees and underserved families in Salt Lake City. This partnership taught us about the urgent need for baby diapers and wipes at a local shelter. Diapers and wipes are fundamental necessities for families with young children, yet they can be a significant financial burden for those facing challenging circumstances.

Understanding the impact of this need, our team at 1847Financial-Utah/Arizona came together to organize a donation drive. We collected and donated over 1,000 diapers and several packages of wipes. While we don't have an exact count of the families who benefitted, we are grateful to have contributed to alleviating the burden for many parents and caregivers in our community.

Supporting Porter: A Community's Compassionate Response

This summer, our team also focused on supporting a brave young boy named Porter, who was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor earlier this year. Porter is currently receiving treatment at Primary Children's Hospital, where he recently underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his lung. We organized a fundraising drive at our annual summer party to support Porter and his family during this challenging time.

The generosity of our community was overwhelming, and all donations went directly to assist Porter's family with medical expenses and other needs. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed and showed their support for Porter, embodying the true spirit of community and compassion.
